Armed Crime Squad detectives today charged a Noble Park woman following a police shooting in Mulgrave earlier this month.

The 28-year-old woman was released from hospital today and interviewed by police.

She has been charged with aggravated carjacking, theft of a motor vehicle, attempted armed robbery, common law assault, shop theft, reckless conduct endangering life/serious injury, and non-prohibited person possessing an imitation firearm.

She will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Bail and Remand court tomorrow.

The charges follow an alleged evade and the subsequent intercept of a vehicle on Police Road on April 4.

The 28-year-old woman, who was in the car and was allegedly armed with a firearm, was shot by police after a confrontation occurred.

She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old Noble Park man was arrested at the scene and since charged with 21 offences, including reckless conduct endangering life, prohibited person possess firearm, aggravated carjacking, robbery and theft of motor vehicle.

He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 4.

Professional Standards Command, as is standard practice when a police firearm is discharged, has oversight of the investigation.
