EPPING, VIC. — A person was lucky to escape an early-morning blaze in Epping after firefighters were called to a house fire at 5.53am.
The two-storey brick veneer building was “well alight” on the second floor and took over 10 firefighters more than an hour to contain, a CFA spokeswoman said.

It took firefighters until about 7am to declare the fire under control.
A resident was assessed for smoke inhalation by paramedics.
The incident took place across the road from the Wollert McDonald’s.
