Firefighters contain Kilsyth house fire

Firefighters crews responded to a house fire in Mt Dandenong Road, Kilsyth this morning after multiple calls to triple-0 around 2:08am.

Firefighters crews responded to a house fire in Mt Dandenong Road, Kilsyth this morning after multiple calls to triple-0 around 2:08am.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews arrived on the scene within seven minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from the roof of the single-storey brick house. The response was escalated to a second alarm.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire whilst preventing the fire from spreading to adjoining properties, which were quite close.

All occupants evacuated safely and were assessed by Ambulance Victoria.

The fire was deemed under control by 2:59am.

In total 10 fire trucks and 30 firefighters responded.

The cause of the fire is not known.

It will be investigated by FRV specialists.
