Firefighters contain Reservoir unit fire

RESERVOIR, VIC. — Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters responded to an incident in O'Connor Street, Reservoir at 10.37pm after several calls to Triple Zero (000) reported a unit fire.

RESERVOIR, VIC. — Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters responded to an incident in O’Connor Street, Reservoir at 10.37pm after several calls to Triple Zero (000) reported a unit fire.

Firefighters arrived on the scene in under seven minutes to find a double-storey unit well alight. The response was escalated.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and began attacking the fire as well as preventing any further fire spread to adjoining units. The fire started in the garage and spread to the house.

A search was conducted, and all occupants have evacuated safely.

The fire was deemed under control by 11.26pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be investigated by FRV specialists.

Firefighters remained on scene to ensure the fire was extinguished.

Ten fire trucks and 28 firefighters attended.
