This morning, firefighters responded to multiple calls for a unit fire in Best St, Reservoir, with one occupant still inside.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews arrived on scene at 1:40am and commenced external firefighting operations as the 10m x 10m single storey brick veneer unit was fully involved in fire.

Due to the enhanced response of firefighting appliances, the fire was declared under control at 1:45am.

Four occupants safely evacuated before FRV’s arrival with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault.
