Firefighters responded to a garage fire in Reservoir this morning following several calls to Triple Zero (000) around 3am.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews arrived within five minutes to find a garage ‘fully alight’ that was threatening adjoining units. The response was escalated to a second alarm.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus (BA) before beginning an external attack on the fire from the front whilst accessing the adjoining units to conduct searches.

The fire was declared under control at 3.29am today, December 30.

Thorough searches were conducted of two units with all evacuees safe and were assessed for smoke inhalation by Ambulance Victoria.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

The fire will be investigated by FRV.
