Fawkner Divisional Response Unit police today charged a man following a pursuit of a Nissan in Glenroy yesterday, Thursday, August 13.
Police responded to reports the Nissan was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the Ring Road (M80) about 2.20am, before officers lost sight of the vehicle in the vicinity of the Northern Memorial Park in Fawkner.
The Nissan was located in a dam nearby and with the assistance of the Dog Squad, the man was found hiding in the water and was subsequently bitten by a police dog before being taken into custody.
The 33-year-old Epping man has been charged with multiple offences and appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
A woman, alleged to be a passenger of the Nissan, was released whilst detectives make further enquiries.
