FRANKSTON, VIC. — Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives yesterday charged a man following two stabbings in Frankston earlier this week.
It is alleged a 53-year-old Skye woman was struck by the man from behind with a sharp implement as she walked along Young Street about 1.15pm on Sunday, August 16.
She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s alleged a second woman, a 29-year-old from Western Australia, was approached from behind and stabbed on Playne Street about 7.45am on Monday, August 17.
She was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 27-year-old man allegedly took off with the woman’s bag before being arrested on Ross Smith Avenue East.
The man of no fixed address was charged with two counts of intentionally causing serious injury, armed robbery, possessing a controlled weapon and possession of a dangerous article.
He appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
