Armed Crime Squad Detectives are investigating a shooting in Hampton late last night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a man found with injuries, consistent with a gunshot wound, on Prince Street just before midnight.
It is believed that a firearm was discharged from a vehicle.
The victim, who is yet to be formally identified, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Despite a thorough search, the vehicle or the offender was not located.
At this stage of the investigation, investigators believe the incident was targeted.
