BACCHUS MARSH, VIC. — New cutting-edge equipment funded by a generous community donation is bolstering paramedic training at the Ambulance Victoria Bacchus Marsh branch, strengthening crews’ abilities to provide the best care at emergencies.

In a remarkable show of support, the Bacchus Marsh Ladies Auxiliary Community Op Shop donated an incredible $8,846 to the local ambulance branch to purchase an ECG rhythm generator, airway management trainer and an IV training arm.

The auxiliary chose to support the Bacchus Marsh branch as the majority of its members or their families have used the pre-hospital emergency services of Ambulance Victoria, experiencing firsthand the life-saving impact local crews have on health outcomes within the community.

Ambulance Victoria Bacchus Marsh Team Manager Daniel Mayne said the new resources would further the skills of the Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics based at Bacchus Marsh.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Bacchus Marsh Ladies Auxiliary Community Op Shop for their support and desire to help make our ambulance service the best it can be,” he said.

“Donations such as these help bolster the resources available to the hardworking Bacchus Marsh crews who give their all to showing up for their patients each and every day.

“Our community has always gone above and beyond to back the work we do, and their contributions have a direct impact on our highly skilled paramedics.”

In addition to what is already provided by Ambulance Victoria, community donations provide local ambulance crews like Bacchus Marsh with specialised equipment, resources and advanced training, supporting staff to continue delivering high quality clinical care.

Community-raised funds like these complement Ambulance Victoria’s broader investment by helping branches tailor their resources to local needs.

“It’s an investment that will help improve the health and wellbeing of our local community and surrounding areas, by ensuring our paramedics have the skills necessary to respond to critical situations they may encounter on road,” Daniel said.

“We’re thankful for every contribution – big or small – as they all go towards investing in advanced training tools to help our paramedics provide best care to the community.”

Donations to Ambulance Victoria greater than $2 are fully tax-deductible and represent a community investment in Victoria’s future pre-hospital emergency health care.
