Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Ascot Vale around 4pm this afternoon.

Police were called to an address on Ormond Road after the deceased was located at an Ascot Vale home.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established.

An investigation is being conducted.
