HOPPERS CROSSING, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances following a fatal collision early this morning.

Police investigators allege a stolen grey Skoda sedan was pursuing another vehicle, in what appears to be an attempted carjacking along Derrimut Road just after 12am.

The Skoda collided with the rear of a Toyota sedan, which managed to safely flee the scene.

A short time later, the Skoda also collided with a Ford sedan and a Ford Ranger, causing the Skoda to roll several times.

One of the occupants inside the Skoda – a teenage boy – died at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, both from the Wyndham area, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries under police guard.

A 16-year-old girl from the Wyndham area was arrested and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

She has since been released from hospital and is expected to be interviewed later this morning.

All occupants inside the Toyota and both Ford vehicles suffered minor injuries.

Checks have revealed the Skoda was stolen from an address on Yellow Box Street, Maidstone, between March 11 and 12.
