A man has died in hospital following a suspected medical episode in Glenroy yesterday afternoon.
Police attended Chapman Avenue to reports of a man lying on the road yesterday at about 2:40pm.
Officers located the man, who appeared to be acting erratically. He was taken into custody by police so appropriate medical treatment could be obtained.
The man’s condition began to deteriorate, and emergency services immediately administered CPR.
He was taken to hospital where he subsequently passed away this morning.
Homicide Squad detectives will investigate the incident with oversight from Professional Standards Command, as per standard practice when a person dies in police custody.
