TRUGANINA, VIC. — A cultural burn led by Bunurong participants at Truganina Coastal Park is helping rejuvenate Chaffy Saw-sedge, a plant that provides essential habitat for the Altona Skipper Butterfly.

Over 13 Bunurong employees and community members worked alongside six FFMVic staff, including two First Nations staff, to deliver this burn.

Working together through the careful application of fire, we’re supporting healthy ecosystems and sharing knowledge that has cared for Country for thousands of years.
