A 26-year-old Ringwood man has been charged after allegedly assaulting police last night.
Officers responded to reports of a man seen running through traffic and allegedly assaulting passersby in a carpark on Bond Street, Ringwood at about 8pm.
Police arrived swiftly and arrested a man before he allegedly spat on one of the officers.
No one was physically injured.
The alleged offender was charged with assault and bailed to appear before Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on May 12.
