SEAFORD, VIC. — Police arrested three people following a pursuit after officers sighted a grey Audi A4 driving erratically on Carrington Avenue, Seaford, at about 3am.
Police allege the vehicle attempted to ram a police vehicle, forcing the officers to take evasive action to avoid being hit.
The Audi – carrying cloned plates – was pursued for a short time before crashing into a pole nearby on Austin Road and igniting.
Following the crash, the occupants were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 25-year-old woman from Frankston North, remains in hospital under police guard.
The passengers, a 31-year-old man also from Frankston North and a 32-year-old man from Carrum Downs, were released pending further enquiries.
