PARWAN, VIC. — A second child has died overnight following a single-vehicle fatal rollover in Parwan just before 4.30pm yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the incident near the intersection of Nerowie and Parwan-Exford roads.
A female driver and seven children were inside the eight-seater 4WD, which rolled and came to a stop on grass between the road and a paddock.
Paramedics worked on a seven-year-old girl, but she sadly died at the scene.
“Two specialist Air Ambulance Victoria helicopter crews, two Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedic crews and seven Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic crews assessed eight people at the scene,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
An 11-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.
He died in hospital overnight.
Five other children were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for observation.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
