Early Thursday morning, firefighters responded to multiple reports of a house fire in Hotham Street, Seddon.

Early Thursday morning, firefighters responded to multiple reports of a house fire in Hotham Street, Seddon.

Around 2:46am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters arrived on the scene to find a single-storey weatherboard home heavily involved by fire.

Additional firefighting appliances were dispatched as the fire was spreading into nearby trees and fences, threatening adjoining properties.

Firefighters were forced to attack the blaze externally, with occupants of adjoining properties also evacuated.

Residents safely evacuated safely with no reported injuries.

The home has been severely damaged by the blaze.

At 3:36am, the incident was deemed under control.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV operations.

The cause of the fire is unknown. It is being investigated by fire investigators.
