CHADSTONE, VIC. — Six people have been arrested following an alleged aggravated burglary in Brighton East this morning and a lengthy pursuit that ended on the Monash Freeway after a Nissan Patrol and an Audi SQ5 were allegedly stolen from a property on Clonaig Street, Brighton East, at about 5.30am.
The vehicles were allegedly involved in another home invasion in Hampton Park at about 7.45am before fleeing.
No one was injured during the home invasions.
Officers spotted the Nissan Patrol being driven erratically in Doveton about 8am, before engaging in a pursuit.
With the assistance of the Police Air Wing, the vehicle was followed through multiple eastern and south-eastern suburbs on the Eastlink and Monash Freeway.
The vehicle was intercepted by specialist police on the Monash Freeway about midday, which caused outbound lanes to be closed for a period of time.
Four teenage boys aged between 16 and 17, as well as two adult men aged 19 and 20, were arrested at the scene.
They were all taken into custody to be interviewed by detectives.
The Audi SQ5 was located in Endeavour Hills and recovered.
Police investigators were seen by ABC News Melbourne reporters removing items from the 4WD and placing them in evidence bags.
