CAMPBELLFIELD, VIC. — Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters responded to an incident on Citrus Ct in Campbellfield at 7:19am yesterday following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a house fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a single-storey brick house heavily involved in fire, with the flames impacting the tiled roof of the property.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames for over 30 minutes, bringing the incident under control at 7:53am.
Extensive damage occurred to the property from flames entering the roof space.
The local Building Surveyor will attend today to check the structural integrity of the home.
The occupants of the property, a family of five, were woken on Sunday morning by a working smoke alarm to discover the rear of their home on fire.
All occupants were able to safely self-evacuate prior to firefighters arriving.
The family will source alternative accommodation.
