Teen hospitalised after fire at Korean BBQ restaurant

SPRINGVALE, VIC. — Police are investigating a suspicious fire after Protective Services Officers (PSO) at Springvale Railway Station were told that two males were seen breaking into the BBQ-K Korean restaurant on Springvale Road, near Windsor Avenue, Springvale, at 12.19am.

SPRINGVALE, VIC. — Police are investigating a suspicious fire after Protective Services Officers (PSOs) at Springvale Railway Station were told that two males were seen breaking into the BBQ-K Korean restaurant on Springvale Road, near Windsor Avenue, Springvale, at 12.19am.

Fire crews were called after black smoke was observed coming from the top floor.

There was nobody inside.

Police believe the males then fled in a vehicle.

Shortly afterwards, emergency services were called to reports of a teenage boy with burns at a fast food restaurant on Warrigal Rd, Heatherton.

A 15-year-old male was arrested and transported to hospital under police guard.

A crime scene has been established.

An investigation is ongoing.
