Police have charged seven teenagers following a pursuit in Melbourne’s western suburbs on Tuesday night.

Officers sighted an allegedly stolen white Skoda SUV driving at high speed on Greens Road, Wyndham Vale just after 11pm.

The air wing and police on the ground followed the car through Werribee, Tarneit and Point Cook and over the Westgate Bridge towards Melbourne.

The Skoda returned to the western suburbs before coming to a stop on Featherbrook Drive, Point Cook. The occupants got out of the Skoda and into a white Volvo.

The Volvo then allegedly sped off along the Princes Freeway towards Little River before returning to the Werribee area.

The car crashed then into a tree on Wisdom Avenue, Truganina.

There were no injuries and five occupants were arrested at the scene.

Two teens fled on foot. They were arrested a short time later.

A 16-year-old boy from the Wyndham area was charged with 12 offences including theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, possessing a controlled weapon and possessing a dangerous article.

He was remanded to appear at Children’s Court.

Five teenage boys from the Wyndham area, aged 15, 16, 16, 16 and 17, were also charged with the theft of a vehicle.

A 16-year-old boy, also from the Wyndham area, was also charged with the theft of a motor vehicle and possessing cannabis.

They were bailed to appear at Children’s Court.
