Thomastown factory fire

THOMASTOWN, VIC. — At 6.33pm, yesterday, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to Austarc Avenue, Thomastown, after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a factory fire.

THOMASTOWN, VIC. — At 6.33pm yesterday, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to Austarc Avenue, Thomastown, after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a factory fire.

Crews arrived on scene within five minutes, found a factory well alight, and quickly escalated the response.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are working to attack the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby factories.

A community safety warning was issued for smoke in the area.

One occupant had self-evacuated and is in the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

The incident was deemed under control at 7.59pm.

Firefighters remained on scene to fully extinguish the fire and ensure the area’s safety.

Victoria Police also attended.
