Tobacco shop firebombed

WEST FOOTSCRAY, VIC. — Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a tobacco shop in West Footscray this morning.

WEST FOOTSCRAY, VIC. — Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a tobacco shop in West Footscray this morning.

Investigators have been told an unknown offender was seen throwing an object into the premises on Sunshine Rd just after 4am.

The shop, which was unoccupied at the time, was destroyed.

It is believed unknown offenders fled in a stolen Toyota RAV4 brandishing false registration plates, which was located dumped nearby on Sredna Street, as well as a white Honda CRV which remains outstanding.

A crime scene has been established. An investigation remains ongoing.

The Toyota was stolen from Lara Railway Station on August 9.
