TULLAMARINE, VIC. — Police this morning arrested two teens following reports of a factory fire on Flight Drive, Tullamarine just before 3.15am.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and flames issuing from a tilt-slab factory.
FRV escalated the response to a second alarm, deploying additional trucks and firefighters to attack the fire.
There was nobody inside at the time and no injuries.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the blaze, successfully preventing it from spreading to adjoining properties.
The fire was deemed under control by 4.36am.
Police later sighted a vehicle of interest speeding in Meadow Heights.
Police followed the vehicle into Roxburgh Park, where it was dumped on St Clair Boulevard. The occupants fled.
A 16-year-old and an 18-year-old were arrested on Sheridan Way.
They will be interviewed by detectives today.
An investigation is ongoing.
