Man charged following assault

MORNINGTON, VIC. — Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged assault in Mornington yesterday afternoon.

MORNINGTON, VIC. — Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged assault in Mornington yesterday afternoon.

A man was found with critical injuries outside a property in Cooba Court about 3.40pm.

The 41-year-old man was treated by ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Police responded and arrested a 35-year-old man a short time later.

He was interviewed by detectives and charged with recklessly causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, using a knife in the commission of an assault and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

The Mornington man was remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
