Police detectives are investigating after human remains were located in Kiata.
A passerby located human remains on the Western Highway just after 8am on Friday, April 4.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified at this stage, but police believe the deceased to be female.
A cause of death is yet to be determined, but is being treated as a possible hit-and-run incident by police at present.
Detectives currently believe she may have been struck by a truck or heavy vehicle sometime between 9pm on Thursday, April 3 and 2am on Friday, April 4.
Investigators are asking anyone traveling in the area around that time with dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
