MELBOURNE, VIC. — One Nation Melbourne electorate candidate Matthew Collins has resigned in disgrace from Hanson’s One Nation after concerns were raised about offensive social media posts — including “I’ve never asked for consent” — which were posted and deleted from a private account linked to the MP hopeful.
One Nation Melbourne electorate candidate Matthew Collins has sensationally stood down after tweets surfaced containing shockingly sexual statements, including “I’ve never asked for consent” before sex.
Matthew Collins tendered his resignation to the party last night after the Herald Sun contacted them and raised concerns about shocking social media posts that had been posted and deleted from a private account linked to the MP hopeful.
The party began investigating the tweets and, within a matter of hours, Mr Collins agreed to stand down.
In one tweet from 2019, the account replied to a tweet urging men to gain consent by saying “I’ve never asked for consent to do anything.”
“I just crush p— and chew bubblegum,” he added.
“It’s so funny that people like this exist.”

In reply to another tweet asking men “what ONE thing you attribute most as the reason that you get so much top tier pussy,” Mr Collins replied “Big brain plus big pp”.
“Mate, consent is cringe,” he posted in another 2021 tweet.
In a separate post in August 2021 asking if Australians have to have sex with a COVID mask on, Mr Collins wrote “Dude, I’m an Aussie and I have been smashing pussy all pandemic long, not a single person is doing this”.
He also posted in 2021 that women “want to let you” have sex with them.
“When you’re with them, they want to be led, to have effortless interactions that will allow them to open up emotionally and become closer to you until you open them up physically and are inside them,” he added.

It’s the second time One Nation has had to deal with resurfaced tweets from Mr Collins, who made headlines when other tweets promoted far-right rhetoric that encourages religious conflict with Muslims, including calls to “decolonise” parts of the Muslim world.
While the tweets have since been deleted and his account was made private, the Herald Sun was able to access the posts through publicly available web page archives.
According to One Nation’s website, the 35-year-old candidate was running for the seat of Melbourne because he “decided not to wait on the sidelines for someone else to fix a state that has been mismanaged by those sworn to govern it”.
“He wants Melbourne restored to its former prosperity and security, the very liveable city he’s always known it can be,” it says.
“His focus is to help deliver strong leadership to leave a Victoria strong enough for the next generation to thrive.”
In a statement provided to the Herald Sun, Mr Collins said: “I am very sorry for the unacceptable comments that I made. They are not reflective of who I am as a person now and I deeply regret ever having made them.”

A spokesman for One Nation last night told the Herald Sun that the party had taken the investigation seriously and confirmed Mr Collins was standing aside.
“We appreciate these comments being brought to our attention. They are unacceptable. We will be taking action and will provide an update shortly.”
