GEELONG, VIC. — Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives today charged a Thomson man after two pedestrians were struck by a car in Geelong yesterday.

Detectives will allege in court that a green Audi deliberately collided with two men walking along Police Lane just before 7am on Sunday, April 19.

The vehicle fled the scene.

A 26-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries and a 21-year-old man with minor injuries were both taken to hospital.

Investigators located the Audi in Thomson and arrested a 22-year-old man near the scene.

The Thomson man has been charged with several offences, including reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing injury, attempt(ing) to intentionally cause injury, driving in (a) manner dangerous, failing to stop after an accident, failure to render assistance and possession of cannabis.

He will appear before the Geelong Magistrates’ Court today.
