Appeal for witnesses following hit-run

MICKLEHAM, VIC. — Fawkner Highway Patrol officers are investigating after a man was hit by a car in a shopping centre carpark in Mickleham on Monday evening.

MICKLEHAM, VIC. — Fawkner Highway Patrol officers are investigating after a man was hit by a car in a shopping centre carpark in Mickleham on Monday evening.

Investigators believe the man was walking in the shopping centre car park on Donnybrook Road when a grey Mitsubishi accelerated towards him about 7.28pm.

The car struck the pedestrian and drove off, leaving the man injured in the car park.

The pedestrian, a 34-year-old Mickleham man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The male driver of the car is perceived as Caucasian and was wearing a green fluorescent top.

Investigators wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the car or the driver.
