KEILOR, VIC. — A 35-year-old Meadow Heights man has been arrested following a series of incidents across Keilor and Airport West this afternoon, where car windows were smashed and cars ran off the road on Westfield Drive, Airport West, at about 12.30pm.
Police understand that the Meadow Heights man first drove into a grey Honda at a shopping centre before taking off in a 2008 blue Mazda sedan towards the Calder Freeway, where he exited the vehicle and began to smash the windows of multiple vehicles parked outside a nearby supermarket.
Officers were told the man then got back into the Mazda before entering the Calder Freeway and colliding with several vehicles.
Luckily, the other drivers were not physically injured.
When the man again attempted to flee the scene, he was arrested by a passer-by in a citizen’s arrest, who restrained him until police arrived a short time later.
He is being interviewed in relation to the incidents whilst an investigation remains ongoing.
