CLYDE NORTH, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a hit and run collision which occurred in Clyde North this morning.

CLYDE NORTH, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a hit and run collision which occurred in Clyde North this morning.

Investigators understand two men were standing on Westphalian Rise about 1am on Sunday, March 29.

Police will allege that a Kia hatch drove past and the occupants hurled abuse at the pair before performing a U-turn and driving towards the men.

One of the men jumped out of the way while a 29-year-old man from Clyde North was struck by the car.

He was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

The vehicle did not stop. The occupants are yet to be identified.

A crime scene is in place and investigations are ongoing.
