Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house fire in Bicentennial Crescent, Meadow Heights at 7:05pm yesterday after multiple calls to triple-zero reporting a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on the scene within six minutes to find the roof line of a single-storey brick veneer structure heavily involved in fire.

An escalated response was initiated with crews, wearing breathing apparatus, entering the home and conducting firefighting operations to isolate the fire from spreading through the residence.

All occupants had evacuated safely with no injuries. The incident was declared under control at 7:32pm.

A Building Surveyor from the City of Hume attended this morning to assess the structural integrity of the home.

The residents have been placed in temporary accommodation.

The cause has been identified as an electrical fault.
