MORDIALLOC, VIC. — Firefighters responded to an incident at the Comanchero-linked Nitro Gym on Boundary Rd, Mordialloc at 3:25am following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a building fire.
Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) arrived on the scene to find a single-storey tilt slab building involved in a fire and escalated the response.
Crews established firefighting lines to combat the blaze, gaining access through a roller shutter door at the rear of the building.
Firefighters worked quickly to contain the flames despite heavy smoke logging throughout the building.
Crews also gained entry to the adjoining property to check for fire extension.
The incident was declared under control at 4:14am this morning.
The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious as the gym is link to the Comanchero outlaw bikie gang.
