Firefighters responded to a fire at a kebab shop in Mordialloc shortly after 6pm on Sunday, following multiple calls to triple-zero (000) reporting a fire.
Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews arrived to find the shop well alight, with people attempting to extinguish the fire using a garden hose.
Crews in breathing apparatus entered the burning building and conducted an aggressive internal attack on the fire, while an aerial firefighting appliance was used to protect neighbouring buildings in the industrial area.
Three people were able to evacuate the building safely without injury.
The kebab shop sustained significant damage in the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
