Pedestrian critical following collision

WESTMEADOWS, VIC. — A man was arrested following a critical injury collision in Westmeadows last night has been interviewed by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.

WESTMEADOWS, VIC. — A man was arrested following a critical injury collision in Westmeadows last night has been interviewed by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Rhyll Court and Toora Drive about 5.50pm.

A 61-year-old female pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A second pedestrian was assessed by paramedics and was not injured.

The driver of the car, a 49-year-old man, was arrested on Erinbank Crescent a short time later.

He has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
