Pedestrian dies following collision

WESTMEADOWS, VIC. — A woman has died following a collision in Westmeadows earlier this week.

WESTMEADOWS, VIC. — A woman has died following a collision in Westmeadows earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Rhyll Court and Toora Drive about 5.50pm on Tuesday, June 2.

A 61-year-old female pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

A second pedestrian was assessed by paramedics and was not injured.

The driver of the car, a 49-year-old man, was arrested on Erinbank Crescent a short time later and was interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
