WESTMEADOWS, VIC. — Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters responded to an incident on Mickleham Road, Westmeadows after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported a car into a building about 3.54am.
Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find flames issuing from two factories housing a billiards playing business and a furniture company. The car that crashed into the front of the concrete building was also on fire.
Firefighters entered the building from the rear of the premises and conducted an aggressive internal attack on the fire.
Through their quick work, FRV crews brought the fire under control at 4.16am.
The fire was contained mainly to the billiard company, which sustained significant damage. The furniture business also received minor damage from smoke and flames.
The fire has been deemed suspicious.
Victoria Police will investigate.
