Police have charged two men following a police ramming in Kurunjang yesterday afternoon where weapons, drugs and cash were discovered.

Police have charged two men following a police ramming in Kurunjang yesterday afternoon where weapons, drugs and cash were discovered. 

Police understand a red Holden Commodore sedan was travelling east on Kirkton Drive about 3.50pm when officers attempted to intercept it.

The Commodore allegedly rammed two marked police cars before colliding with a fence (see photo) on the corner of Kirkton Drive and Gisborne-Melton Road.

Officers swiftly arrested the 36-year-old male driver from Kings Park, who has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, prohibited person possess a firearm, intentionally expose police officer to risk by driving, theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods, possess drugs of dependence, possess ammunition and possess prohibited weapons.

It is alleged officers located a quantity of .22 ammunition, a flick knife, an extendable baton, stolen identity cards, about 25g of Methylamphetamine, cannabis, cash and four stolen registration plates.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for a filing hearing today.

As part of the investigation, police executed a search warrant at a property on Stewart Crescent, Rockbank about 7.45pm yesterday.

It is alleged that officers located 1.2 litres of 1,4 Butanediol (GHB), about 22g of Methylamphetamine, about 25g of cannabis, a small amount of heroin, a stolen registration plate and a large amount of cash.

A 36-year-old man from Rockbank was arrested at the scene.

He has been charged with possessing and trafficking drugs of dependence, handling stolen goods, possessing proceeds of crime and bail offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court today.

It is understood the Holden was stolen from a St Albans property on March 17, and it is alleged the registration plates on the Holden were also stolen.

No one was injured during the incident. The fence sustained moderate damage.
