Stolen vehicle returned to owner after police arrest 5 teenage girls

Police have arrested five teenage girls after following them in Melbourne’s northern suburbs in an allegedly stolen car overnight.

Police have arrested five teenage girls after following them in Melbourne’s northern suburbs in an allegedly stolen car overnight.

Investigators tracked an allegedly stolen vehicle on Flemington Road, North Melbourne about 12.30am.

Police followed the car through Carlton before it came to a stop on Queensbury Street.

A 16-year-old Deer Park girl, a 16-year-old Fitzroy North girl, a 15-year-old Brookfield girl, a 16-year-old Melton West girl and a 15-year-old girl from Fitzroy and were arrested.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen from Preston and has been returned to the owner.
