MELTON, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives today charged a man after a woman was struck by a truck in Melton last Friday, January 2.
Police allege a truck struck the woman on Coburns Road about 10am.
Ambulance crews treated the 74-year-old Brookside woman at the scene, and she was transported to hospital but died yesterday, Sunday, January 4.
The 22-year-old Tarneit man has been charged with unlicensed driving, failing to stop at a red light and dangerous driving causing death.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on May 8, 2026.
