MOORABOOL SHIRE, VIC. — Hide + Seek Pathways is now open to all artists, musicians, writers, performers and collectives connected to Moorabool, providing support in the development of their ideas, practices and careers.

It is intended to support the creation of new, place-based artistic work grounded in the stories, histories and living cultures of Moorabool Shire and to enable artists to develop strong, viable proposals for potential commissioning as part of Hide + Seek Festival 2027.

This week, Moorabool Shire Council announced a new artist development opportunity, inviting proposals to work with celebrated theatre director, writer and arts leader Dr Donna Jackson.

The program will run from July to October 2026, comprising six in-person and online mentoring sessions delivered by Jackson alongside guest contributions from Council and industry. The program culminates on Saturday, October 24, 2026, when participants pitch their developed project proposals.

Moorabool Shire Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said Hide + Seek Pathways focuses on stories, histories and living culture of Moorabool Shire.

“(This program) is not focused around a single art form or discipline. Hide+Seek Pathways will foster greater capacity, expertise and peer connection,” he said.

Expressions of interest are now open and close on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 5pm.
