Today, as Federal Parliament resumed, The Australia Institute soft-launched a live blog of Parliamentary proceedings with the Institute’s Chief Political Correspondent Amy Remeikis live reporting from Canberra.
Amy – reporting for the Australia Institute – stated: ” … it is a bit of an experiment, but we hope it adds some value amongst all the Auspol noise,” Amy posted before signing off for the day for a well-earned break.
” … what we do hope to do is add in some context where needed and do as many fact checks as possible at the time the fact needs to be checked. And well, you have a bit more freedom to call some of that stuff out at a think tank,” Amy Remeikis said.
The Australia Institute intends to fact-check what is said and done by our politicians both in and out of Parliament House.
Given current circumstances across the Pacific Ocean, this is a vital function.
