Stolen vehicle involved in collision

LARA, VIC. — Geelong Divisional Response Unit detectives have arrested a man following a head-on collision in Lara yesterday morning.

LARA, VIC. — Geelong Divisional Response Unit detectives have arrested a man following a head-on collision in Lara yesterday morning.

Police were investigating an aggravated burglary in Newcomb just after 7am where an MG was stolen.

The stolen vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Forest Lane in Lara around 10.45am.

The Air Wing took up a monitoring position overhead as the vehicle travelled at high speeds northbound along Forest Road, Lara.

Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the stolen vehicle, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital for observation under police guard.

The female driver of the other car was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A third vehicle was also damaged during the collision. The male driver was not injured.

An investigation is ongoing.
