Police have arrested a 25-year-old Kangaroo Flat man following an alleged fatal stabbing in Kangaroo Flat about 10.30pm last night.
Police believe an altercation, “a fight” allegedly occurred between two men on High Street, Kangaroo Flat at about 10.30pm. One man died at the scene.
Witnesses heard the confrontation and located a 49-year-old Kangaroo Flat man with suspected stab wounds. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
A 25-year-old Kangaroo Flat man was later arrested and assisted Homicide Squad detectives with enquiries.
The 25-year-old man has this afternoon been charged with murder. He will face the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, December 9. He has been remanded in custody overnight.
It is believed the parties were known to each other.
