BENDIGO, VIC. — A teenager arrested by Protective Service Officers on Saturday has been charged in relation to a stabbing in Bendigo last week.
The 16-year-old was arrested at Bendigo Railway Station on Saturday, June 6, just after 7pm.
He was interviewed by detectives from Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit and charged with intentionally causing injury, affray, assault with a weapon and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
The charges follow an incident on Thursday, June 4, where a 41-year-old man was allegedly set upon by up to six youths in Bath Lane following an altercation about 9pm.
The injured man made his way from the laneway to a sports bar and sought assistance after the offenders fled the scene.
He was treated by ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds in a serious condition.
The boy from the Greater Bendigo area has been remanded in custody to appear before a children’s court.
An investigation remains ongoing.
