ARARAT, VIC. — Police are investigating a fatal truck crash in Ararat this morning.
Investigators have been told a truck travelling east on the Western Highway crashed into a tree about 500 metres east of Heath Street about 4.20am.
The truck was engulfed in flames and the driver, who is yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene.

The Western Highway remains blocked in both directions. Diversions remain in place.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
