Body found after Kew stabbing

KEW, VIC. —The body of a man has been found in Antwerp this morning as part of the ongoing investigation into a stabbing in Kew overnight.

Police discovered the body following a call to Triple Zero around 6.15am.

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives were actively searching for an 18-year-old Camberwell man after a woman was stabbed outside a Miller Grove home about 1am this morning.

Investigators have been told the woman had returned to the address following a night out with friends when she was confronted by a man known to her and stabbed.

The 18-year-old Kew woman was taken to hospital with what was initially believed to be life-threatening injuries. The woman is now stable.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Poice are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

The death of the man is not being treated as suspicious.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
