MELBOURNE, VIC. — Casey and Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives joined forces to investigate a series of non-fatal shootings across Melbourne last month, executing warrants and charging two people on Thursday night.
The charges come after an extensive investigation into the following:
- Several shots were allegedly fired from a vehicle into a business on Webb Street in Narre Warren on July 6. No one inside the business at the time of the shooting was physically injured;
- Multiple shots were allegedly fired from a vehicle towards a residence on Morecambe Avenue in Keilor Downs on July 7. No one was injured; and
- Various incidents at a Rowan Drive address in Kealba, including multiple shots allegedly fired from a vehicle into the residence on July 15. No one was home at the time.
Detectives, with the assistance of the Special Operations Group, arrested a 29-year-old Box Hill South man in Lower Plenty and executed a warrant at a Mernda address where a 35-year-old Box Hill South woman was arrested.
A search warrant was also executed at an address in Box Hill South.
The man and woman have been charged with multiple counts of discharging a firearm at a premises, reckless conduct endangering life, prohibited person possessing a firearm, theft of motor vehicle and criminal damage by fire.
They appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
