Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a bottle was thrown, striking a police officer, at a protest in Melbourne last month.
Investigators have been informed that the officer was on duty on Bourke Street at approximately 2:15 pm on Sunday, August 31.
A beer bottle was thrown by a man in the crowd towards the female officer.

It struck her in the head, causing injuries.
